Author John V. Robinson is a member of the Crockett Historical Museum and a former ironworker turned author, teacher, and researcher. His previous book, "Spanning the Strait," documents the planning and construction of the Zampa Bridge and other historic bridges across the Carquinez Strait. In Crockett, Robinson pays homage to the city's movers, shakers, and sugar makers, with more than 200 nostalgic images, including previously unpublished material from C&H company photographer H.B. Hosmer.
The Images of America series celebrates the history of neighborhoods, towns, and cities across the country. Using archival photographs, each title presents the distinctive stories from the past that shape the character of the community today. Arcadia is proud to play a part in the preservation of local heritage, making history available to all.
