The complete five volumes of Bernard Freedman’s "Death Notices of Contra Costa County, 1860-1937" are now available on a single, searchable CD. Normally each book is sold for $12.95 but now all volumes can be purchased on a single CD for only $30. This is a valuable resource for any serious genealogist or researcher. Compiled from the local newspapers the deadly flu epidemic of 1918 is recorded as well as tragic explosions at our local powder plants. The rise of the automobile at beginning of the 20th Century can be seen as cars quickly replace the railroad as the leading cause of accidental deaths.
