John V. Robinson is the author of Arcadia Publishing's Crockett and Al Zampa and the Bay Area Bridges and, like coauthor Veronica Crane, was raised in Port Costa. In this volume of vintage images, Robinson and Crane have gathered historic photographs from longtime Port Costa residents and from the archives of local historical societies. Mixed in are some contemporary images to create a compelling and lively sketch of Port Costa's colorful history.
The Images of America series celebrates the history of neighborhoods, towns, and cities across the country. Using archival photographs, each title presents the distinctive stories from the past that shape the character of the community today. Arcadia is proud to play a part in the preservation of local heritage, making history available to all.
