The second half of the book paints a fascinating picture of a little known aspect of life along the rivers and bays of the Bay Area. After 1846, the Sonoma Creek became an important route for transporting goods and passengers between the Sonoma Valley and San Francisco. For those interested in California’s early day steamers and sailing sloops, this is a "must have" book. Many unique ship pictures will be of interest to historians of marine sail and steam transportation.
