Radio Essays of Justice Bray

Superior Court Judge Bray was a co-founder of the Contra Costa Historical Society. During the late 1930s and early 40s, Justice Bray gave a series of weekly radio addresses over Station KLX from Oakland, California. These essays have recently been given to the Contra Costa County Historical Society's History Center by Lorraine Bray, wife of Judge Bray's son, A. F. Bray, Jr. The essays mainly dealt with the early legal questions that arose on the raw California frontier.

Some essays, however, give us insights into the early life and attitudes of our Contra Costa pioneers.
