Bulletin

The Bulletin of the Contra Costa County Historical Society is published quarterly. Its purpose is to help accomplish a major goal of the Society as set forth in its bylaws, namely, the dissemination of knowledge about the history of Contra Costa County and the State of California.

In recent years, an accurate interpretation of our past has come to be defined less in terms of famous people and momentous events and more in terms of ordinary people and everyday events. The Bulletin seeks to reflect this shift in emphasis by helping to document regional history.

The Editor invites those who share these goals to submit manuscripts for consideration. In addition to articles and photographs relating to the past, items concerning activities of other historical organizations are encouraged.
