Contra Costa County Historical Society Announces Winners of Inaugural Essay Contest

Contra Costa County Historical society awards Ezekiel Jenson a $1500 scholarship in its annual essay writing contest.

Three Local Teens Each Win $1,500.00

Martinez, CA – The Board of Directors of the Contra Costa County Historical Society (CCCHS) announced today the winners of the CCCHS’s inaugural Essay Contest for high school seniors.

Applicants were required to write an original essay, between 1,200 and 1,500 words, on one of three topics:

  • General History of Contra Costa County
  • Women Who Impacted the History of Contra Costa County
  • The Minority Experience in the History of Contra Costa County

The three winners are:

Ezekial Jenson, a home-schooled student from Walnut Creek
